Hugo Lloris has sent a heartwarming message to England captain Harry Kane on the back of his costly penalty miss.
Kane and Lloris - teammates at Tottenham Hotspur - crossed paths at the quarterfinal stage of the World Cup with the former missing a crucial penalty.
His inability to convert from the spot cost England a spot in the semifinals with many lending support to the 29-year-old striker after receiving backlash from multiple critics.
Among the lot to send encouraging messages to Kane was his Spurs teammate Hugo Lloris, who was in between the sticks for France, on the occasion of the Englishman's miss.

"It's a tough game for the English national team I think Harry (Kane) can be proud of what he has done for the national team, all the great players miss penalties: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, I'm sure he will put the shirt back on to help the national team and Tottenham shine,": Lloris said via RMC Sport.
