Brazil football legend Ronaldo has named Jose Mourinho among four ideal managers who should take over as the country's head coach.

The role fell vacant following Tite's decision to step down, after Brazil's disappointing 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar.

According to Metro UK, Tite failed to guide the South American football giants to glory despite having an array of talented and experienced players at his disposal.

Brazil were sent packing in the quarter-finals, after they fell to a heartbreaking defeat to 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia.

The tie had to be decided via a penalty shootout, with Tite's men losing 4-2 after Marquinhos and Rodrygo failed to convert from the spot.

Ronaldo wants Mourinho as coach

Ronaldo has now named four top managers, whom he contends are better placed to succeed Tite as the next head coach.

According to the legendary forward, Brazil should consider appointing a non-Brazilian to the role.

"There are a lot of amazing names that would do a lot of good. [Carlo] Ancelotti, Abel [Ferreira] from Palmeiras, [Jose] Mourinho from Roma," Ronaldo said via Metro UK. "I don’t know what the CBF will do, but my opinion is that it would support a foreign name."

Ancelotti praises Mourinho

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has hailed Jose Mourinho as the greatest coach of all time.

Ancelotti said this while talking on defense and counter-attack tactics regularly used by the AS Roma Boss.

Modern football is the order of the day, but the Los Blancos manager expressed belief that the old way is still very relevant.

Mourinho is a serial winner, having won league titles in all countries he has managed, and is reputable for his winning mentality and instilling fighting spirit in his players.
