Inzaghi: Ronaldo can't just retire

Inzaghi retired from professional football at the age of 39 and he flashed back to how difficult it was for him to accept his playing career was over and call it quits.

The 2006 World Cup winner has come in defence of 37 year old Ronaldo amid criticisms and calls to retire. He spoke to Sky Italia as quoted by Football Italia.

“I always say that it’s hard for us to stop, to accept, as it happened for each of us, the end. You never know what awaits you afterwards and you know that what you are doing gives you emotions that are difficult to recapture,” Inzaghi said.

The head coach of Reggina also said people around Ronaldo can help him stop while also adding that he deserves to finish on a great level.

“I don’t know what goes through your head, it’s not easy for a coach to handle. Luckily for me they made me stop, I would have gone on to 39 years old, but some players deserve to finish at great levels.” he concluded.

Ronaldo's girlfriend blasts Santos

Sports Brief earlier reported that Ronaldo's girlfriend spoke about her unhappiness at Portugal boss Fernando Santos for benching Ronaldo twice at the World Cup.

The five time Ballon d'Or winner's family are vocal on social media, his girlfriend and sister constantly going after anyone coming at him.

These are the people surrounding Ronaldo who could actually make him stop but still pushing him hard to continue, it becomes increasingly difficult.
