Paris Saint-Germain ace Kylian Mbappe has appeared to declare Cristiano Ronaldo the football GOAT, in the wake of Portugal's elimination from the 2022 World Cup.
The European powerhouses were sent packing from the tournament in the quarter-final stage, after a 1-0 shock defeat against Morocco.
The Selecao were firm favourites to advance to the next round at the expense of the North Africans - at least going by their squad depth and experience.
However, Walid Regragui's men went on to stage an epic performance and become the first African country to reach the World Cup semis.

Ronaldo benched vs Morocco
According to Sportbible, Ronaldo did not play a prominent role in Portugal's defeat as he was started from the bench once again.
But unlike the previous match where he spent much of the time on the bench, the veteran striker was introduced into the clash after the break.
However, his introduction made little to no impact, as the Atlas Lions held firm to their slim lead to claim a historic win.
The Selecao's defeat left Ronaldo in tears, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner spotted crying down the tunnel after the final whistle.
Ronaldo posts on Instagram
On Sunday, the Portuguese talisman broke his silence on his side's elimination from the World Cup with a lengthy social media post.
In the post, the 37-year-old insisted that it was always his dream to win the world's most prestigious football tournament.
Incredibly, Mbappe was among thousands of fans who took some time to commiserate with the experienced striker.

FootballIn his comment, the PSG ace used the crown, high five and a goat emoji - likely to suggest Ronaldo is the greatest ever.
Mbappe vs Walker
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Kylian Mbappe versus Kyle Walker lived up to the hype, when England met France in the World Cup quarter-finals.
Walker was tasked to keep tabs on Mbappe, who has been superb in Qatar. The contest was interesting to watch, as the Three Lions did slow the French golden boy down.
The English player had indirectly delivered a warning to the PSG superstar in the build-up to the game, saying he wasn't going to 'roll out the carpet' for him.
