NBA superstar LeBron James has led other celebrities and sports entities in sending tributes and condoling with the family of sports journalist Grant Wahl.
Wahl collapsed and died on 10th December while covering the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Preliminary reports from the Guardian indicate that he might have suffered from a heart attack.
The 49-year-old has vast experience and until his demise worked as a correspondent for CBS Sports.
His wife, Celine Gounder confirmed his death in an emotional message on Twitter.

"I am so thankful for the support of my husband's soccer family & of so many friends who've reached out tonight. I'm in complete shock."
Veteran American Women forward Carli Lloyd said;
"Learned of Grant Wahl’s passing while I was at the Sixers game. Completely shocked. My heart goes out to his wife, family, friends and the soccer community. Truly heartbreaking."
Los Angeles Lakers star James was equally devastated by the news.
"Very fond of Grant, and having that cover shoot, me being a teenager and him covering that, was a pretty cool thing. ... I've always kind of watched from a distance. ... It's a tragic loss. It's unfortunate to lose someone as great as he was."
Piers Morgan also sent out his thoughts to family and friends.

Sports Brief has also reported that one of America's leading soccer reporters, who made headlines when he was detained at the Qatar World Cup for wearing a rainbow shirt, died Friday while covering the quarter finals in Doha, according to his wife and the US Soccer federation.
Grant Wahl, 48, helped build soccer's popularity in the United States through decades of vivid reporting at Sports Illustrated, then with CBS Sports.
According to NPR, Wahl collapsed in the press tribune as Friday's Argentina-Netherlands match was winding down. Paramedics performed CPR at the scene before taking him away on a stretcher. The Wall Street Journal said Wahl apparently suffered a heart attack.
