- Arsenal defender Ben White surprisingly left England's World Cup squad in Qatar after only two games
- The FA cited personal reasons for his departure as England went on to win their group before heading into the knockout stages
- White, unlike Raheem Sterling, won't be reuniting with the squad and will focus his energies on club football
New details have emerged as to why Arsenal defender Ben White left England's World Cup squad in Qatar.
White left England's training base in Al Wakrah before their crucial match against neighbours Wales with the Football Association citing personal reasons.
He was an unused substitute in the first two matches against Iran and the United States of America.
Sky Sports now reports that he had an alleged confrontation with Gareth Southgate's assistant Steven Holland.

Daily Star further adds that the 25-year-old had a difficult time settling in with his teammates and grew unhappy over time. His bust-up with Holland is said to have come before the barren draw against the USA.
No comment from White
Holland was unhappy after White appeared not to know some information about his stats. It remains unconfirmed if these series of events were what made White fly back home.
The FA and the player have never given subsequent updates about the situation. He was soon followed by Raheem Sterling whose home was broken into by armed intruders.
Sterling rejoins England camp
Sterling is set to rejoin the England squad in Qatar, as the Chelsea winger makes his way back to the World Cup after flying home to resolve a family issue.
Sports Brief reported that Sterling missed the Three Lions’ round of 16 victory over Senegal after heading home to be with his family, following a break-in by armed intruders at his residence.

FootballSterling's spokesperson said the 28-year-old left the England camp in Qatar to prioritize the well-being of his family, including his three young children.
How France could line up against England
Sterling will be back in time for England's clash against France. France boss Didier Deschamps is expected to name a strong team when his side takes on England in a mouthwatering World Cup quarter-final clash this weekend.
The two football powerhouses are set to lock horns on Saturday, December 10, at Al Bayt Stadium, with a spot in the semis at stake.
The match comes at a time when France, the defending champions, have been in fine shape so far in their push to retain the crown.
