Cristiano Ronaldo has made his stance on the Portugal national team clear, amid reports he was ready to walk away from the World Cup.
The former Manchester United man’s statement came just hours after the Portugal FA also released a statement to clear the air of any false reports.
On Wednesday, December 7, there were scathing reports from Portuguese media suggesting Ronaldo could walk away from his team midway through the World Cup, because he was discontent with being benched.
Footage after the Switzerland win also seemed to show the veteran walking off the pitch early, as the rest of his teammates appreciated their fans following the emphatic 6-1 win.

“A group too close to be broken by outside forces. A nation too brave to let itself be frightened by any adversary. A team in the truest sense of the word, which will fight for the dream until the end! Believe with us! Strength, Portugal!” he shared via Twitter.
So far in Qatar, the star striker has netted just once, in his nation’s Group H opener against Ghana.
Previously, he appeared to infuriate his coach by making a controversial gesture, as he was being taken off during the 2-1 defeat to South Korea on December 2.
