The head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro, has boasted that Nigeria will qualify for the 2026 World Cup in Qatar.
The 23rd edition of the global showpiece is billed to be co-hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Nigeria missed out at the 2022 edition in Qatar, conceding the ticket to the Black Stars of Ghana during the qualifiers.
It had ended 0-0 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, and then Ghana forced a 1-1 draw in the return leg inside the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja to qualify via the away goals rule.

African teams performed poorly at the tournament, with Senegal and Morocco the only two teams from the continent that reached the second round.
Peseiro, who was appointed the coach of the Super Eagles in May, is in Qatar as he lamented Nigeria’s absence from the Mundial.
The fan posted on Twitter:
“Met Super Eagles coach @JosePeseiro at the Cameroon game. He said we’re playing the Next World Cup.”
Peseiro has also tipped the Netherlands as contenders for the trophy after their thrilling win against the United States.
Meanwhile, he shared pictures of himself in several match venues in Qatar, having seen the round of 16 tie between France and Poland at the Al Thumama Stadium and the play between England and Senegal at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.

Sports Brief earlier reported that the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro applauded Victor Osimhen, who is in blistering form for Napoli this season.
Osimhen has scored 9 goals in 13 Serie A matches this campaign, and his efforts have helped the Parthenopei remain top of the standings.
Despite injury concerns, the former Lille of France striker has contributed immensely to the Italian club since he joined the outfit in the summer of 2020.
