Former England captain Wayne Rooney has described the joke by Ghanaian MP Isaac Adongo, comparing Harry Maguire to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, as 'crazy'.
The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency went viral for saying Dr Bawumia was an 'economic Maguire'.
According to Adongo, Maguire has been poor since joining Manchester United despite showing promise during his time at Leicester City.
His joke cracked up Members of Parliament, as they burst into laughter as he tried to paint a picture of the country's economic woes.

However, Manchester United legend Rooney did not see the humour in the politician's statement, claiming Maguire has been one of the best defender's at the World Cup.
"On social media this week, I saw someone in the Ghanaian parliament making fun of Harry Maguire. It was crazy, because Harry has been outstanding at this World Cup. I predicted he would do well - because he always does well for England and never lets Gareth Southgate down. He’s simply a very good defender with a strong mentality," Rooney told The Times.
What Honourable Isaac Adongo said:
"Harry Maguire, he's a defender. He was tackling everybody and throwing his body everywhere," Adongo said to fits of laughter from those in attendance.
Adongo spoke about how Maguire was then purchased by Manchester United and went from being the best defender in the world to the biggest threat to the Red Devils' defence.

Van der Vaart trolls Marguire
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Rafael van der Vaart is unhappy with Germany's World Cup performance.
The former Netherlands midfielder criticised the team's defending, hilariously comparing it to that of England defender Harry Maguire.
Football 365 noted that Van der Vaart was providing commentary on Dutch television when he took a shot at both Niklas Sule and Maguire.
