FootballWorld Cup 2022: Germany to Wait for Jurgen Klopp to Replace Hansi Flick
- The German FA are looking to snub Thomas Tuchel and wait for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
- Under Hansi Flick, Germany failed for a second time running to progress from the group stage
- With Klopp under contract at Liverpool until 2026, he will need convincing to leave Anfield
The German FA are still mulling over the decision of who will be the national team's next manager.
Current head coach Hansi Flick is walking on thin ice, after his team suffered an embarrassing and historic exit from the 2022 World Cup.
The four-time World Cup champions exited the tournament from the group stage for the second time in a row, and will probably perform an inquest on what happened in Qatar.
Flick was criticised for adopting a gung-ho style in Qatar when he could've been more pragmatic. Japan capitalised on that and handed them a painful loss in their first game.

Although one can lay blame on Flick, all of it is not on him though. Some experienced players massively underperformed, and it is unlikely they will return to the team.
Klopp to replace Flick
According to the Daily Star, the German FA are set to wait for Jurgen Klopp before making a decision. They are expected to snub Thomas Tuchel, who is jobless after he was fired as Chelsea boss in September.
Flick said that his country has to do things differently if they want to get back on top, according to the Guardian.
“We need the basics. Spain is very good in the defence and they focus on training of young players. I think for the future and the next 10 years, it will be very important to focus on the new generation of footballers.”

FootballGerman FA president Bernd Neuendorf has made the current Liverpool boss his preferred choice. However, Klopp will need some convincing as his current contract ends in 2016.
However, with the announcement that Liverpool were up for sale, the German FA may have a golden opportunity to lure the former Borussia Dortmund boss to the national setup.
The federation are reportedly reluctant to offer Tuchel the job, as their relationship is not great.
Flick's heated exchange with Schweinsteiger
Sports Brief earlier reported on Flick having a heated argument with German World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger.
Flick reacted angrily to an assessment of the team's performance by Schweinsteiger, after amassing just one win in three group-stage games.
The German coach hit back at the former midfielder's comments as 'absolute nonsense', when he was asked to respond during a press briefing.
