FootballGraham Potter Brutally Told Chelsea Players Do Not Rate Him Like Tuchel
- Graham Potter took over from Thomas Tuchel in September 2022
- Despite a positive start to life at Stamford Bridge, Potter saw his side endure a spectacular dip in form
- Former England player Kieron Dyer believes the Chelsea players do not rank Potter as highly as they did Tuchel
Kieron Dyer believes Chelsea players do not rate Graham Potter very highly, amid struggles at Stamford Bridge.
Potter took charge from Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea in September, after the German was axed following a Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb.
The former Brighton coach initially started life at the Chelsea dugout positively as he went on a nine-game unbeaten run.
But since then fortunes have taken a turn for the worse, and Chelsea lost three successive Premier League games, against Brighton, Arsenal and Newcastle, before the World Cup break.

Dyer, a former Newcastle man, attributes the slump in form to a theory that some Chelsea players may not see Potter as being on the same level as Tuchel.
"I’m so happy that Potter got his chance, so happy because he deserved it.” He said on True Geordie’s Youtube channel.
"I’ve spoken to people who have had Tuchel as a coach and they’ve had Potter as a coach, obviously I’m not going to name names.
"They are just like, you cannot compare the two. Knowledge of the game, tactics, just the way they are.
Chelsea currently sit eighth on the log after 14 matches, seven points off Tottenham who occupy the final Champions League spot.
