Samuel Eto'o has thanked his supportive mother for being beside him during the difficult moments at the World Cup in Qatar.
The Cameroon Football Federation chief has come under intense pressure after a poor start to the World Cup coupled with disciplinary issues in camp, leading to the sacking of first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana.
However, the Indomitable Lions produced a strong finish to their tournament after remarkable 3-3 draw against Serbia and a famous win against five-time world champions Brazil.
The five-times African champions became the team from the continent to beat Brazil at the World Cup and could have advanced had Serbia draw with Switzerland.

After the game, Eto'o credited his mother for guiding him through the tough moments.
"Mom, Thank you will never be enough to tell you my gratitude for your faith in me," he wrote on Instagram.
"Tonight, all is you, and you are all. Even when everyone doubts … you keep your trust in me.
"I am privileged to benefit from your unconditional love.
"You accompany me in all my fights… even when I am alone against all… YOU ARE ALWAYS there.
"Thank you Mom, My viaticum. Mom … my viaticum!"
Cameroon joined Ghana and Tunisia as the African countries to suffer group stage elimination at the World Cup in Qatar.
