The Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup continues to serve up drama as the first rounds of the final day of group games involving group H were played.
Portugal was the only team to have qualified before the matches. Ghana, South Korea and Uruguay could still qualify but it was the Asians who took their chances.
The Ghanaians were breathing revenge on Uruguay and Luis Suarez for the 2010 incident. The same incident came back to haunt them, Andre Ayew missed a penalty, Luis Suarez contributed to two goals.
Both teams were eliminated and there were tears from both nations, but Tottenham and Antonio Conte would be more worried as midfielder Rodrigo Bentacur limped off with an injury.

How serious is Bentacur's injury?
Rodrigo Bentacur is one of Antonio Conte's most important players since he joined from Juventus for €19m and a possible €6m in add-ons according to The Athletic.
According to Transfermarkt, Bentacur has scored five goals in all competitions and assisted a further two while picking up eight bookings. This shows his importance to Tottenham in the midfield.
The injury is not thought to be serious and with the Premier League not resuming until December 26, he has enough time to recover and be ready for action.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said he is open to returning to the Premier League managerial positions.
Pochettino has been out of job since leaving PSG in July after just 18 months and with questions over Antonio Conte's future, a return could be on the cards.
He spent five years in charge of Tottenham guiding them to second place finish in the league in 2016 and the Champions League final in 2019.
