  • Samuel Eto’o says Cameroon will do everything to beat Brazil when both teams clash on Friday
  • The Indomitable Lions must beat the South Americans to stand any chance of progressing to the knockout stage of the World Cup
  • Victory for Switzerland over Serbia will knock Cameroon out of the tournament no matter the result vs Brazil

FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o has stated that Cameroon will go all out when they face Brazil in an all-important showdown at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Group G will go down the wire on Friday, December 2, and the Indomitable Lions must defeat the South Americans to progress.

While the Samba Boys seemed to have qualified for the knockout stage, having won their two previous games, Cameroon has a slim chance of progressing, having managed just a point from two games.

But first, they face the herculean task against Neymar and co, but Samuel Eto’o believes the squad have all it takes to spring surprises.

Eto’o tweeted:

“We're ready to give it our all.”

And fans have stormed the comment section of the post to express their reactions. One said:

“We all believe in it president, the flame will not go out tomorrow. Cameroon at the roof of the world history will be written, it is certainly true that on the papers we do not have the statistics raised to that of the opponent, but our quest of pride will be right on them.”

Another added:

“Can you please give them chance to work? You're the federation chairman and not the coach.”

Fans blast Song, Eto’o over Onana decision

Sports Brief earlier reported that fans are upset with team manager Rigobert Song and the country’s FA president Samuel Eto’o following the decision to send goalkeeper Andre Onana packing from the tournament.

It was gathered that the Inter Milan goalkeeper held a tense discussion with the head coach, who insisted on a different style of goalkeeping which was more ‘traditional’.

Onana was billed to man the post for Cameroon in their all-important tie with Serbia but was reportedly dropped out of the squad on the back of a tense meeting with the coach.
