Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has revealed that he was still playing juvenile football when Ghana played Uruguay at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The four-time African champions were painfully booted out of the tournament after a dramatic end to the quarter-final clash 12 years ago.
Uruguay striker Luis Suarez stopped a goal-bound header from Dominic Adiyiah with his hand, and was sent off as the Black Stars were awarded a penalty.
Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan missed from the spot, as Suarez wildly celebrated while he walked off the tunnel. The West Africans ended up losing the game 4-2 on penalties.

Partey recalls that fateful night, as he was honing his skills as a young footballer on the streets of Ashaiman, a suburb of Accra.
“I was very young. I was playing colts in Ashaiman. It was a game of football, everything can happen. We had the chance to score the penalty. We were unlucky the ball did not go in, but I think we are going into this game well-prepared," he said during a pre-match interview with Pulse.
On Friday, Ghana will have the chance to avenge the defeat to the South Americans in the final Group H game of the World Cup.
Both nations have a chance to progress, with the Black Stars needing at least a draw and hoping Portugal beat South Korea in the other group game.
