Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Threatens to Drop Man United Flops After Leicester Mauling
- Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has often paraded a team with a mixture of talent, youth, and experience
- Pogba, Ronaldo, Sancho, Fernandes, and Maguire are among the players who have featured prominently this season
- However, the Norwegian is now considering making changes to his team selection after an embarrassing loss to Leicester
- Such a move from Solskjaer is expected to affect a number of top players initially considered undroppable
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted at making significant changes in his team following Man United's humiliation against Leicester at the weekend.
Man United were completely torn apart at the King Power Stadium as they went down 4-2 on Saturday, October 16.
The loss meant that the Red Devils have managed to pick just one point from their last three Premier League matches in a poor run of form that has seen them drop out of the top four.
Solskjaer now contends it is the right time to mix things up when it comes to team selection in the coming matches.
Speaking after the defeat at Leicester, the Norwegian admitted his side's recent run of poor results was unacceptable, suggesting he will be left with no choice but to make changes to his team set-up.
"Lately we have not been in great form - lost too many points and that is something we have to look at," SunSport quoted him saying.
"We might have to change - do we need more legs in there? What do we need?
"I pick the team, Harry Maguire showed no reaction and I hold my hand up if that does not work out. If we concede four, I probably made a bad decision," he added.
Ole has often settled for a mixture of talent, youth, and experience in his team selection, with Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, David de Gea, Jadon Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo featuring prominently.
His view of relooking at his team set-up comes only hours after Gary Neville claimed there is a lack of balance in Man United's squad.
Conte reportedly ready to replace under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that experienced Italian manager Antonio Conte is reportedly ready to take charge at Old Trafford should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer be shown the door.
Conte is understood to be the standout candidate to succeed Solskjaer, with the Italian currently out of work.
Solskjaer's position at United has come under increasing threat in recent days after leading the club to a disappointing run of results.
The Red Devils' last assignment on Saturday, October 16, saw them suffer a 4-2 humiliating defeat against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.
The result saw them drop out of the top four on the standings, with the Manchester club now going three league matches without a win.
