A section of fans has sensationally claimed that the 2022 World Cup is 'rigged', after Argentina landed a relatively easier draw in the knockout round of the tournament.
Argentina, who have widely been touted as favourites to win the Qatar edition of the World Cup, advanced to the last 16 on Wednesday night, November 30.
The South Americans' qualification came just days after they kicked off their campaign on a negative note, suffering a 2-1 shocking loss against Saudi Arabia in their opener.
However, they quickly found their footing in their second clash against Mexico, who they stunned 2-0 on November 26.

They eventually got the job done on Wednesday night, when they won by a similar scoreline against Poland to advance to the round of 16 as Group C winners.
Argentina set up Australia clash
La Albiceleste's impressive group finish saw them land a relatively easier fixture, with the Lionel Messi-captained side set to battle minnows Australia in the knockouts.
The Socceroos made it to the last 16 after they finished second in Group D with six points, with their 1-0 stunning win over Denmark earlier on Wednesday lifting them up.
With Argentina landing the Aussies in the last 16, a section of fans has sensationally claimed that the tournament could be rigged in favour of Messi's nation.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi set an unwanted record at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after he missed a penalty against Poland.
Argentina's best chance to break the deadlock came in the 39th minute when they won a penalty, after Wojciech Szczęsny was adjudged to have fouled Messi.
The PSG star stepped up to take the resulting spot kick, only for Szczęsny to pull off a stunning save to deny the Barcelona icon.
