His impressive performances have seen him court interest from a number of clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle United, and Barcelona among the teams he has been linked with.

However, Le10 Sport claims Chelsea have an edge over the three clubs in the transfer race for the teenage sensation.

The publication adds that the Stamford Bridge dwellers have moved quickly to wrap up a deal to sign the 18-year-old.

Should all factors remain constant, Santos could reportedly join the Premier League side in the January transfer window.

The development comes at a time Chelsea have been linked with a move for RB Leipzig superstar Christopher Nkunku.

Reports claim Potter's side are expected to complete a €60m deal to sign the French forward at the end of the ongoing season.

Man United want Pulisic

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has been linked with a stunning January move to rivals Manchester United.

The American international is said to have set his sights on departing Stamford Bridge following his tumultuous spell with the Blues.

Pulisic has found playing time hard to come by since falling down the pecking order under former boss Thomas Tuchel.
