Kylian Mbappe could be sanctioned by FIFA despite his terrific start for France at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The 23-year-old’s goal return inspired the Europeans to a Round of 16 berth as they finished as Group D winners notwithstanding their 1-0 loss to Tunisia.

According to Football London, Mbappe could now be sanctioned by FIFA after refusing to speak to the media for the second game at the World Cup against Denmark.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward had earlier refused to stop and speak to the media in the mixed zone after France's first group game against Australia.

Mbappe and the French Football Federation (FFF) are now set to be hit with a fine from FIFA following the 23-year-old’s continuous refusal to speak to the press.

Deschamps denies that Mbappe has 'big ego'

France coach Didier Deschamps had refused suggestions that Mbappe has a "big ego"

The tactician also confirmed his authority over both Mbappe and his team selection while defending the youngster against claims that he has an ego problem.

"His fitness is fine so we don't need to manage that, so you are saying we have to manage his ego?,” Deschamps told the media.

“What do you know about that? I know but you don't. Kylian doesn't have a big ego, that's not true. He's a key player but he's a team player. Of course, he's a star but he's not 18-years-old anymore, he's more experienced.”

Mbappe is currently tied with Enner Valencia, Marcus Rashford and Cody Gakpo on three goals and will want to add the Golden Boot trophy to his growing collection.

PSG chief concedes Mbappe could leave French champions

Meanwhile, PSG chief Luis Campos concedes Kylian Mbappe could yet be sold to Real Madrid just months after turning down an offer from the Spanish champions, Tribal Football reports.

Mbappe was anticipated to join Real Madrid when his contract expired last season, but he turned down the offer and instead agreed to a new three-year agreement with PSG.

Campos has not ruled out the possibility of Mbappe joining Real Madrid but reveals that the decision lies solely in the hands of the 23-year-old French forward.
