Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will not be available during the January transfer window, according to sources close to the Italian club.
The Nigerian international had been on the radar of Manchester United for some time now as the Red Devils continue their search for Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement.
The former Lille of France striker has been in fine form for the Partenopei this season, scoring 10 goals in his 14 appearances in all competitions so far.
Manchester United recently terminated Ronaldo’s contract, and the Premier League club are looking to land the Super Eagles striker at Old Trafford.

But Napoli have insisted that the forward will not be available in January, meaning United should turn their searchlight elsewhere.
Famous sports journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote in his column for Caught Offside:
“Napoli insist they won’t sell Osimhen or any other player in January. The price tag in the summer was €120m (£103.1m) and nothing happened, now they’re doing great in Serie A and Champions League so there are no plans to sell him in January at all.”
League leaders Napoli are eight points clear of second-placed AC Milan and are chasing their first Serie A title since 1990.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian managed one goal in three Champions League appearances, with the club reaching the last-16 stage of the competition, where they will take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the knockout stage.

FootballSports Brief earlier reported that a former AC Milan manager, Fabio Capello, suggested that Spanish giants Real Madrid might be planning to swoop on Victor Osimhen.
Capello hinted this during the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where the 23-year-old Nigerian was named the young player of the year.
The former Italy manager disclosed that Los Blancos might be planning to raid Napoli as soon as the January transfer window opens.
