A group of Argentine supporters were in a jubilant mood ahead of their Group C opener against minnows Saudi Arabia.

Argentina have been tipped as one of the strongest contenders to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup and it comes as no surprise that fans of the La Albiceleste are poised for the group opener.

In a video posted on Twitter, seen by Sports Brief, a cross-section of supporters clad in Argentina's jerseys cheered and chanted at the Lusail Stadium hours before kickoff against The Falcons.

Doctor wants Argentina to lose

Lionel Messi’s doctor, Diego Schwarzstein, has said that he doesn't want Argentina to win a single game at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Messi will be hoping to lead his country to their third World Cup title in the Middle East, having already won the tournament in 1978 and 1986.

The South American giants are among the strongest contenders to lift the trophy in Qatar and are unbeaten in 35 matches coming into the World Cup.
