The Iran fans believe the Manchester United captain is the reason why England will not win the World Cup.
In photos posted on social media, the fans at the Khalifa International Stadium were in festive mood as Iran face the Three Lions in their Group B opener.
England came close to winning their first title since the 1966 World Cup when they reached the finals of Euro 2020.

The European giants head to the World Cup as one of favourites to win the competition, having finish fourth four years ago.
