The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar on Sunday, November 20th, and 32 teams including Argentina, France and Brazil are already set for the start of football’s biggest tournament.

FIFA who are set to generate at least $4.6bn from the competition, has committed about $700m in payments for the 32 national teams and hundreds of clubs providing players with $440m.

According to the Daily Mirror, the winners of the 2022 FIFA World Cup is also set to get a massive $50m as prize money for winning the competition set to end on December 18.

The football governing body is set to make $2.6bn coming from broadcasting deals and an additional $1.35bn from sponsorship and marketing agreements as revenue from the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In addition to the $2m advance payment for pre-tournament camps and other preparations, all nations will also get $10m from FIFA for taking part in the group stage.

Tournament in Qatar set to get under way

Meanwhile, the FIFA World Cup in Qatar will finally begin on Sunday, November 20, after 12 years of skepticism, criticism, and speculation about the tournament in the Middle-East, BBC reports.

Fifa has urged all 32 participating countries to "concentrate on the football," and tournament hosts Qatar will face Ecuador in the opening match at Al Bayt Stadium.

France, Argentina, and Brazil have been tipped as many as favourites to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup following the team’s pedigree and form coming into Qatar.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the build-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has been less than spectacular, owing to the Middle East nation's deplorable human rights record.

With just three days left for the start of the Mundial, another layer of allegations has been added to the already well-documented fractured state of Qatar.

The regional director of the British Middle East Center for Studies and Research with over 400,000 followers on Twitter, Qatar has bribed players of Ecuador ahead of the opening game.
