Brazil youngster, Rodrygo Goes has sent a message of support to Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema after the France forward was ruled out of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Benzema will not get an opportunity to make a second World Cup appearance for France after he picked up a thigh injury in training which has ruled him out of the competition.
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner confirmed he will no longer play a part in France’s World Cup title defence and has now been removed from Didier Deschamp’s 26-man squad.

Rodrygo who won the La Liga and Champions League alongside Benzema last season, took to social media to commiserate with the forward as he wished his Real Madrid teammate a speedy recovery.
France will begin the defence of their World Cup title against Australia on Tuesday, November 22nd, before further meetings with Denmark and Tunisia in Group D.
Martial among options to replace Benzema
Meanwhile, Manchester United striker Anthony Martial is among the options to potentially replace Karim Benzema in France’s World Cup squad, Metro UK reports.
The 2022 Ballon d’Or winner is facing at least three weeks on the sidelines after suffering a thigh injury in what was his first training session with the French squad.
Didier Deschamps has until Monday night to bring in a replacement to his 26-man squad with Wissam Ben Yedder and Moussa Diaby also being considered for the World Cup.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported France star Karim Benzema has lost his race to be fit for the 2022 World Cup and has withdrawn from their squad, the country's football federation announced on Saturday.
The Real Madrid forward was voted the best player this year in the Ballon d'Or last month and the 34-year-old will be sorely missed by the World champions.
The emblematic Benzema has been struggling with a thigh problem since October and has played less than half an hour of football in his club's last six games.
