FootballWorld Cup: Man United Fans Say the Same Thing As Anthony Martial Is Snubbed for the Second Time
- Anthony Martial was snubbed for a second time by France manager Didier Deschamps to the disappointment of Manchester United fans
- Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku pulled out of the squad after sustaining an injury during a training session
- Deschamps decided to instead replace Nkunku with Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani
Manchester United fans were up in arms, protesting France manager Didier Deschamps' decision to snub Anthony Martial for a second time.
Martial only recently found full fitness after battling a niggling injury at Manchester United, and was recently reintegrated into Erik ten Hag’s squad.
Despite scoring just four goals in all competitions this season, Martial has been the preferred forward for ten Hag’s side whenever he is fit.
United fans were hopeful Martial would be selected for France’s World Cup squad the first time, but the 26-year-old was always going to find strong competition in the Bundesliga’s top scorer Nkunku.

As reported by the BBC, Nkunku suffered a freak injury in training after a challenge from Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, and essentially had to pull out of the squad.
This provided the perfect chance for Martial to perhaps be selected for the World Cup, but France manager Deschamps instead went for another Bundesliga man - Eintracht Frankfurt forward Kolo Muani.
Of course, this did not sit well with United fans, who took to social media to question the decision.
"They're taking someone from the Bundesliga over Martial?" one fan commented.
"Wish it was Martial who got the call," another added.
"No way Martial is missing another World Cup," said another irate fan.
"I'm tired man he's never getting his moment for France," added another.
United defender Raphael Varane is facing a race against time for fitness, but was still included in the final 26-man squad.
