November 15 will go down in football history as the day Real Madrid presented their new signing, Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior.
The defender became a club legend at Los Blancos before leaving 15 years later.
From Brazil to Spain
As reported by Eurosport, Real Madrid secured the services of Marcelo from Fluminense for six million euros. Sevilla was also in the hunt for the player, but Marcelo was said to only have eyes for Madrid. Marcelo was only 18 when he signed for the Spanish club and was viewed as the next Roberto Carlos.

A legendary Los Blancos career
There’s no question that Marcelo is a club legend at Madrid. As noted by Transfermarkt, he played 546 games for the side. As a defender, he scored 38 goals and notched up 103 assists.
He went on to win five UEFA Champions League titles, six La Liga titles, and two Spanish cups among the numerous trophies he won at the club.
A new start in Greece
After his legendary career ended in Spain, Marcelo found a new home in Greece. The Brazilian joined Olympiacos and was given a hero's welcome by the club’s fan base when he was presented to them.
