Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has been named in Spain’s 26-man for the upcoming 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 20-year-old star has been given the chance to add to his four caps at international level in the Middle East country.

Fati is already a regular for the Catalan giants, where he has notched three goals in 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

Luis Enrique's squad comprises top players predominantly from La Liga, with as many as seven Barcelona players featuring on the roster.

Veteran defender Jordi Alba has been named on the list, along with centre-back Eric Garcia.

In the goalkeeping department, Atheltic Bilbao's Unai Simon cemented his place in the team, but there was no place for David De Gea and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

In attack, Enrique will be relying on Ghanaian-born Spanish winger Nico Williams and Atletico Madrid forward Alvaro Morata.

Meanwhile, some notable names failed to make the cut, with Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara and Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos left out.

Defenders: Dani Carvajal, César Azpilicueta, Eric García, Hugo Guillamón, Pau Torres, Aymeric Laporte, Jordi Alba, Jose Gayá

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Gavi, Carlos Soler, Marcos Llorente, Pedri, Koke

Forwards: Ferran Torres, Pablo Sarabia, Yeremy Pino, Alvaro Morata, Marco Asensio, Nico Williams, Ansu Fati, Dani Olmo.

Netherlands' World Cup squad released

Sports Brief has also reported on the Netherlands announcing the country's team list for the World Cup, starting later this month.

Head Coach Louis van Gaal has included Virgil Van Dijk, Frenkie De Jong and Memphis Depay as some of the notable names on the squad sheet, while Donny van de Beek and Ryan Gravenberch will miss out.

The three-time finalists will hope to break through at last and claim the coveted trophy in Qatar.
