Gerard Pique’s next big plan is to contest for the Barcelona presidency sometime in the future, after officially announcing his retirement from football.
The 35-year-old defender, who is a cult hero for the Spanish giants, decided to hang up his boots after falling down the pecking order at Camp Nou this season.
According to ESPN, Pique has now confirmed that Barcelona presidency appeals to him and he intends to help Catalan club reach its full potential.
"I'm sure it will appeal to me at one point, but not right now. Not training every day will give me the opportunity to focus on other things. In the future, we will see, but I would like to help the club of my life maximise the potential it has."

Pique already owns the Spanish second division team Andorra, which he claims he can devote more time to now, and to his business Kosmos.
Pique rips into Madrid president
Meanwhile, Pique harshly criticised Real Madrid president Florentino Perez over his handling of the proposed Super League, which has received heavy backlash from stakeholders.
Pique confessed he still held Perez in high regard, but admitted he was disappointed in the Los Blancos boss for not knowing what he wanted to achieve with the Super League, Football Espana reports.
