France manager Didier Deschamps is confident Karim Benzema will be fully fit when the 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar on November 20, despite Benzema missing Real Madrid’s last few games.
Benzema has not featured for the Spanish giants in their last 3 matches, prompting backlash from from some Real Madrid supporters who believe he is preserving himself for the World Cup.
According to Madrid Universal, Deschamps insists Benzema’s injury crisis is a result of the striker playing too many matches, but also revealed Benz will do anything to be fit for the World Cup.
“He knows that the World Cup is a very important moment for him. He will do everything, like the whole group, to be ready on November 22. There was a period where Benzema played too much and is now paying the price with small injuries, but he knows the World Cup is important.”
