Amid fears that Sadio Mane could miss the World Cup, a journalist based in Senegal has urged the Bayern Munich forward to quickly return home to seek a 'local solution' to his injury.
The forward suffered a knock and was substituted in the first half of Bayern's 6-1 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen.
This comes less than two weeks before the global showpiece kicks off in Qatar, and there are concerns that Mane might not recuperate fully before the start of the tournament.
Senegal have been tipped to do Africa proud at the Mundial, but the Teranga Lions can't afford to be without their captain, the reigning African Footballer of the Year.

Zambian journalist Kaumba Chikenge has disclosed that a journalist from Senegal believes the former Liverpool star will recover from his injury if he quickly returns home.
In a post on Facebook, Chikenge narrates how the journalist lamented Mane's injury situation:
“We are devastated; Sadio is very important for the team. However, many people here are still hopeful he will be fine, and they are saying if the medical teams fail, he should consider coming back home to seek local solutions."
When asked which local solutions Mane should seek, the journalist reportedly replied:
"We have people in Senegal who heal broken legs and shoulders with traditional methods, and that can be considered because we want him in Qatar.”

FootballMeanwhile, German club Bayern Munich have released a statement that Mane should still be available to play for Senegal at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Several sections of the media claimed that Mane could miss the football fiesta, but Bayern Munich’s assistant coach Dino Toppmoller stated the injury was not serious.
Mane statue unveiled in Bambali
Sports Brief earlier reported that a statue of Senegal legend Sadio Mane has drawn massive reactions on social media from fans of the player.
The statue, designed and built by a Senegalese artist, was spotted in the player's hometown of Bambali.
The sculpture was designed in the image of Mane in a Senegalese jersey, reminiscent of his appearance at AFCON 2021.
