Sadio Mane has received a message of encouragement from President of Senegal Macky Sall, after news broke that he will miss the World Cup in Qatar.
The Bayern Munich winger suffered an injury during the Bavarians' game against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Tuesday night.
According to L'Equipe, the African Player of the Year is the latest casualty ahead of the tournament in Qatar.
However, President Sall wished Mane a speedy recovery and expressed hopes he would be fit in time for the World Cup.

The President of Senegal wrote on Twitter:
"Sadio, I wish you a speedy recovery from your injury in the Bayern-Werder Bremen game. As I told you: Sadio, Lionheart! With all my heart with you! God bless you!"
Senegal head to the competition as African champions, with most of their hopes on the talismanic forward.
The West African nation have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Qatar, the Netherlands and Ecuador.
Mane out of World Cup
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegal have suffered a huge blow, following news their star player Mane would reportedly miss the FIFA World Cup with an injury.
Mane went off injured during Bayern Munich's game against Werder Bremen on November 8. He was taken off after just 20 minutes, with Leroy Sane taking his place.

However, Sadio Mane could be available for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, Sports Brief also reported.
The Senegal star was forced off after just twenty minutes of the game following a knock to his shin during the match against Werder Bremen.
Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann explained the player would undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
