Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart can count himself unlucky for not making the latest Bafana Bafana squad.
Coach Hugo Broos named a 23-man squad that will take on Mozambique and Angola several days after the Carling Black Label Cup on Saturday.
Maart underlined his recent good form with a super goal against Orlando Pirates a couple of weekends ago, that made worldwide headlines, with the teams set to meet again on the weekend.
In response, Amakhosi coach Arthur Zwane said to TimesLIVE at an open media day at Kaizer Chiefs Village:

“That’s football, and we respect the opinion of national team coach Hugo Broos. He knows the players he wants and he knows how he wants to play. We have to respect that and give him the support he deserves. Yusuf has been doing well for me. I know that as time goes by he will improve and be a better player."
Zwane explained it depended on the coach whether Maart was selected in future, as the national team is performance-based.
"That will help Yusuf look at himself, and also how we can help him, as coaches, to improve his game. I have no doubt he will be back in the national team.”
Meanwhile, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo hinted to his coach about the lack of playing time at the Amakhosi this season. Tellingly, Chiefs supporters selected Ngcobo in the starting line-up against the Buccaneers.

Carling Cup: Riveiro on Broos
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos chose to loose the cat among the pigeons regarding the timing of the Carling Black Label Cup, Sports Brief has reported.
Broos described the competition as a cash-grabbing waste of time, also criticising its timing as he prepares the national team for two friendlies against Mozambique and Angola.
In response, Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro chose to be diplomatic in response to the Belgian's outburst. The Buccaneers will contribute Miguel Timm, Monnapule Saleng and Zakhele Lepasa to the national team, five days after the Carling Cup.
