Man City boss Pep Guardiola has delivered an update on Erling Haaland's injury, ahead of his side's meeting with Chelsea.

Haaland is understood to be battling a foot injury he suffered in October, which ruled him out of City's Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City in the Premier League.

Whereas he returned to action last weekend against Fulham, the Norwegian hotshot is said not to be 100 per cent fit.

According to Guardiola, his star forward is still nursing his foot complaint and faces a fitness test ahead of City's Carabao Cup clash against Chelsea on Wednesday, November 9.

Haaland could also potentially also miss Man City's Premier League meeting with Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, November 12.

"He's not perfect - it [the injury] is still not perfect," Guardiola told reporters on Tuesday via The Mirror.

"We'll see [if he's available] tomorrow, next Saturday - but he's getting better. It's important the bone is not broken - there's no damage. It's just ligament damage a little bit, so it's not perfect right now," he added.

Haaland's injury setback is a massive blow to Man City, with the youngster spearheading his side's hopes this season.

The ex-Dortmund ace has scored an impressive 23 goals across competitions, with 18 of those scored in the English top flight.
