The 25-year-old plies his trade with Flamengo, where he recently guided them to Copa Libertadores glory. He scored 29 goals to convince Tite he needed to be on the plane to Qatar.
As soon as Tite read his name, he went down on his knee and proposed with a diamond ring, as Daily Star reports.
After proposing, he said:
"God is so good, so grateful to God for having this woman in my life. Thank you for making me grow in every area most especially as a man of God. A new stage in our lives, may God continue to bless and protect us."
Pedro's rise to the national team has been full of challenges. In 2018, he was close to joining Real Madrid and getting his first call-up. But an anterior cruciate ligament injury saw both dreams crumble. He had a botched spell at Fiorentina before returning to his native country.
