The Gunners are looking to win their first league title in almost two decades, and the London derby win perfectly demonstrated their title credentials, according to BBC.

Mikel Arteta's objective for this season probably is to finish in the top four for the first time since 2016, and the signs are promising so far.

Arteta breaks manegerial record

The win over the Blues means Arteta now has 87 victories from his first 150 games as Arsenal manager, surpassing the legendary Arsene Wenger, who had 82 at the same stage, according to the Sun.

Wenger is alongside George Graham on 82 victories after 150 matches, with Harry Bradshaw on 78, Tom Whittaker on 75 and Terry Neill on 72.

Arteta was delighted after the win, declaring that his side are in the title race. However, he was cautiously optimistic.

"We are today. But in football, today and tomorrow is a very different. So let’s enjoy time," according to Football London.

Arteta's reign has undergone tremendous obstacles and there were talks of him potentially being fired, but the Spaniard has turned it around brilliantly, making Arsenal a competitive outfit.

Arteta picks best versus Cheslea

Sports Brief earlier reported on Arteta naming four Gunners players that impressed him in the huge Chelsea win.

He picked the quartet of Gabriel Jesus, William Saliba, Ben White and Gabriel Martinelli as the top players of the game. Arteta also singled out the defensive duo of Saliba and White for praise.

Saliba was voted man of the match with a phenomenal performance, shutting down Chelsea's attacks.
