The defensive midfielder said according to IOL:

“My wife said she’s never seen me cry, tonight is the first time. A lot of emotions ran through me (after the game), I'm so happy, this is the reason I came here and it feels like I'm dreaming but it's really happening. To win with a club like this, I can't compare it with anything so far in my career."

"Timm was a ball-boy when I was still playing for Pirates. He used to tell us he'd wear this great Pirates jersey one day and win trophies."

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder started his career with the Buccaneers, before making a homecoming at the start of this season after leaving Marumo Gallants.

MTN8 Final: Orlando Pirates to keep Wafa Wafa trophy forever after defeating AmaZulu

Orlando Pirates is currently on cloud nine.

The club captured its 11th MTN8 title after defeating AmaZulu 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday. Monnapule Saleng's cracking free-kick in the 25th minute from a tight angle proved to be the difference between the two teams.

The Buccaneers will now get to keep the trophy because of the number of times they have won the competition before (11), with a new design for the trophy coming next season. MTN has been the title sponsor of the tournament since 2008.

Ahead of the final, MTN brand manager, Nomsa Chabeli had said ahead of the final:

“If they win this Saturday, they are going to retain the trophy, those are the Buccaneers. If Usuthu wins it, the cup goes back to the MTN head office.”
