FootballBruno Fernandes Courts Controversy With Brutal Comments About Teammate Alejandro Garnacho
- Bruno Fernandes earned some criticism online after his comments on teammate Alejandro Garnacho
- Garnacho scored to help Manchester United beat Real Sociedad in the Europa League on November 3
- It was the 18-year-old’s first senior goal for the club, and Fernandes tried to explain why he did not get opportunities early on in the season
Bruno Fernandes has been criticised online for openly criticising Alejandro Garnacho’s attitude, after Manchester United’s win over Real Sociedad.
Garnacho was the match-winner on the day, but his goal was not enough to see Manchester United top their group on Thursday, as Real Sociedad proceeded to the last 16 as group winners.
For United, they will have to wait for the harrowing draw on Monday, November 7, to learn about their playoff opponents.
Garnacho will look at the match with fond memories however, after getting his maiden goal after seven senior appearances for Manchester United.

Despite the youngster’s impressive performance, Fernandes put a damper on him by claiming he did not have the right attitude early on in the season.
“He was good, but he knows we expect a lot from him,” Fernandes said on BT Sport.
“At the beginning of the season he was not at his best. In the [pre-season] tour, he didn’t have the best attitude that he should have, and that’s why he didn’t get his chances until now.”
These comments did not sit well with a number of online users, who slammed Fernandes for picking the wrong time to criticise his young teammate.
One fan said: “This Bruno guy really talking like he wasn’t a 2/10 today"
Another added: “Bruno talking about attitude spends half his time on the floor and moaning at other players"

“You talk too much.. Eth need to put you on the bench," read another social media comment.
Garnacho uses Cristiano Ronaldo celebration
Earlier, Sports Brief also reported on a delightful incident that saw Garnacho asking Cristiano Ronaldo for consent to use his celebration.
After his goal, the young attacker celebrated with his teammates and took the chance to perform a celebration that has now gone global.
Moments before that, as he was being embraced by his teammates, Garnacho had a brief engagement with Cristiano where he made a gesture similar to the celebration.
