Chelsea meanwhile, have shown glimpses of progress under new boss Graham Potter, with the side losing just once in eight matches under the tutelage of the Englishman.
With Arsenal keen to maintain their grip on top of the charts, and the Blues looking to close the gap in the top four, Merson contends the Sunday cracker will be a massive one for both teams.
However, the former England international believes there won't be anything separating the two teams when they face off at the weekend, and has predicted a 1-1 draw.
"Arsenal are flying in the Premier League at the moment, and they don’t need the World Cup rest. They’re on a roll and they were outstanding against Forest," Merson noted.
"I think this match will end in a 1-1 draw, and that’ll be a good result for Arsenal," he added in his column on Sportskeeda.
