The Gabonese acrimoniously left Arsenal in January this season after falling out with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta who punished him for disciplinary reasons, eventually stripping the striker of the captaincy.

A few weeks ago, Aubameyang was seen in a leaked video calling out Arteta, saying he can't handle big players.

According to the Evening Standard, the striker apparently said that after completing a move to Barcelona in January after his contract was mutually terminated.

Aubameyang's message to Arsenal

According to Football London, the 33-year-old said he relishes facing his former club, with a subtle message that he now plays for the Blues.

"Arsenal, nothing personal. I'm back, I'm blue, I'm ready. Let's go."

After the viral video leaked, Aubameyang said he has no hard feelings towards the Gunners

The message now leaves the encounter finely poised with plenty of talking points for both sides. Abameyang's switch to Chelsea raised eyebrows, given his former boss Thomas Tuchel left a few days later.

The forward now has three goals in 11 appearances for the Blues this season.

Arteta's message to Aubameyang

Sports Brief earlier reported on Mikel Arteta responding to Aubameyang following the video's release.

Arteta did not directly mention Aubameyang but praised his players and the dressing room in general.

"Phenomenal, I've never been in a better dressing room. More enjoyable, more hard-working, better relationship with the staff to players, and it's an absolute pleasure as a coach to be part of this group."
