New reports have claimed that Jose Mourinho attempted to return to Chelsea as head coach for a third stint.
Mourinho has been highly successful during his two previous stints under former owner Roman Abramovich.
But after Abramovich decided to sell the club earlier this year due to the controversy surrounding the Russia-Ukraine war, Mourinho is said to have made attempts to return to Stamford Bridge.
The Chelsea Dodger, via Simon Phillips, reports that Mourinho reached out to the prospective bidders of the club.

"Apparently Mourinho reached out to some of the Chelsea bidders when the club went up for sale, to see if he could convince whoever was buying the club to appoint him again."
The process of getting Abramovich's successor was rigorous, with the Clearlake consortium led by Todd Boehly winning the bid at an estimated value of 4 billion USD.
At the time, Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the team as he oversaw the uncertain times during the transition. The fan favourite was, however, sacked in September after a string of poor performances.
His place was taken over by Graham Potter. Meanwhile, Mourinho is with AS Roma, with whom he won the inaugural Conference League last season.

"Think potter deserves a chance but I would love a jose 3.0. Has good talent id, improves players and would have good pull on targets."
