At 32 years of age, Kroos has shown incredible dedication and discipline, never to have received a red card before. While he’s picked up 91 yellow cards, he’s never incurred a second in his professional career.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Kroos has played 775 games during his career for both club and country. He’s played for Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
The refereeing in the game was called into question, though. Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti took aim at the officiating after they allowed Girona’s equaliser. Girona were awarded a penalty after Marco Asensio was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Ancelotti claimed that the handball was ‘invented.’
