Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has admitted he could not bear to watch another one of his team’s late goals getting chopped off after the dramatic win over Bournemouth.
The North London side had to come from two goals down, with Rodrigo Bentancur bagging a stoppage-time goal to complete a remarkable comeback at the Vitality Stadium.
It will come as a relief for Conte, who was coming under pressure after his team’s recent dip in form that spread across their last three games.
After going 2-0 down in the first half, Spurs showed some character as goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies restored parity in the match.

After Bentancur’s late goal, there were similar scenes late in the game to those three days earlier where Tottenham scored late against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Conte knows all about the heartbreaks involving VAR and after his side found the winner, he could barely watch what unfolded next.
He spoke after the game on his decision to walk down the tunnel:
“I came back when I knew the goal was regular.” He said as quoted on Daily Mail.
“I thought in my mind and my heart I can have a heart attack because in two days to score and then have the goal disallowed, I said I go down (the tunnel) and stay calm and then I wait for the decision of the referee.”
