Manchester United central defender Raphael Varane's World Cup position is in serious jeopardy after France's boss, Didier Deschamps, warned about injured and recovering players.
Varane suffered a hamstring injury during United's Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, 22nd October.
The former Real Madrid defender was an important player for France as they won the 2018 World Cup, and his participation in this year's tournament is in serious doubt, according to the BBC.
Considering Les Bleus' tough competition for places, Varane will need to be either fit or injury-free to be considered by Deschamps.

Varane warned by Deschamps
Deschamps has outlined that he will not be taking injured players to Qatar, raising fears about Varane's participation, according to MEN. He said that bringing injured players along is too much work.
“That’s clear and concise. I’ve said it before, I’ve never gone to a major competition with an injured player. Going to a major competition with players who aren’t fit takes up too much attention. And for those who do play, it takes up the medical staff’s time.”
Varane and Paul Pogba are facing a race against time to be fit and Deschamps has underlined his conditions for selection.
“One is that the player has recovered. That’s a condition. Without that, there isn’t even a question to be asked. The second thing is to evaluate their athletic condition."
