The captains found it hard to pick between the two but eventually settled on each legend. The captain who settled on Messi was adjudged to have won the toss.
Maradona is a legendary figure in Argentine football, having won the World Cup in 1986. Messi, meanwhile, is one of the best footballers ever despite not having a world cup on his CV. The Paris Saint-Germain forward will have an opportunity to rectify the wrongs of 2014 next month in Qatar.
