Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has hailed the former Nigerian international, Onyekachi Apam, saying the defender was his best teammate from Africa.
The pair played together at the French club Nice, where Apam made name for himself following his brilliant defensive skills.
The former Super Eagles defender was at the Ligue 1 outfit between 2006 and 2010, where he made 105 league appearances, scoring one goal.
Apam had been tipped to become one of the best defenders in the world, but a nagging injury plagued his professional career, forcing him into early retirement as he last featured for Seattle Sounders in 2014.

But Lloris has recognised the 35-year-old, saying the Nigerian star was very talented. He said via Brila FM:
"I've played with many African players, and it's difficult to pick, but I remember the one I first played with, maybe you don't know, he's Onyekachi Apam. He's a Nigerian and I played with him at Nice.
"He was very talented, I remembered the first game he played, it was against Marseille and he played at left back. After the game people were asking who's this player? Because they couldn't beat him one on one.
"But unfortunately he had bad injuries and couldn't follow with the rhythm of the game, he was very talented."
Efe Ambrose joins Greenock Morton
Meanwhile, Sports Brief earlier reported that former Nigerian international Efe Ambrose will now play in the Scottish Championship, having joined Greenock Morton.
