FootballYaya Toure Controversially Snubs Pep Guardiola for Mikel Arteta Amid Champions League Curse Rumours
- Yaya Toure is seemingly yet to forgive his former boss Pep Guardiola after he snubbed him in favour of Mikel Arteta
- Toure had a fallout with Guardiola at two clubs and declared that the head coach had an issue working with black players
- This, in turn, led to the controversial African curse sentiment by Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk that Guardiola will never win the Champions League
Yaya Toure has reignited the tension between himself and his former manager Pep Guardiola. Toure and Guardiola are believed not to see eye to eye after a fallout during the former's last year at Manchester City.
Toure first played under Guardiola, where they won a couple of trophies, including the Champions League. He was then sold to Manchester City, which Guardiola also joined in 2016.
Sport Bible reports that despite Toure being highly successful in Manchester, his relationship with Guardiola deteriorated, that he only started one Premier League game in his final season.
After joining Olympiacos, Toure boldly declared that Guardiola seemingly had issues with black players. He later on apologised for his comments.

His agent Dimitri Seluk famously claimed that Guardiola's treatment of Toure had provoked African shamans and the Spanish head coach would never win the Champions League again. This controversial comment is often revised every time Guardiola is eliminated from the top-tier competition.
Toure has now stoked those fires by picking Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta over Guardiola. The Africa Cup of Nations winning captain was asked by former Watford goalkeeper who he prefers between the two coaches.
The Ivory Coast international settled on Arteta. Arteta is spearheading Arsenal's charge for the Premier League title this season.
