FootballFans Say the Same Thing About Ruud Van Nistelrooy After Psv Ends Arsenal's 9-Game Unbeaten Run
- Football fans all had the same thing to say after Arsenal’s nine-game unbeaten run was brought to an end by PSV Eindhoven
- The Gunners needed just one point to go straight to the Europa League last 16
- But they were stunned away from home by the Dutch side, managed by Manchester United legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy
Former Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy received plaudits online after his PSV team became only the second side to beat Arsenal so far this season.
In a game that Arsenal was expected to control, it ended up being the complete opposite as Mikel Arteta’s side was thoroughly dominated by the hosts in the Netherlands.
After a goalless first half which Arsenal showed hints of fatigue, PSV turned up the style in the second period and their pressure eventually paid off.
As reported on BBC, the first goal came in the 55th minute as Joey Veerman’s first-time effort from 16 yards found the back of the net.

Substitute Luuk de Jong then took full advantage of a mistake from Aaron Ramsdale to score a header that would consolidate his team’s lead.
It is kind to note that PSV also had three other goals ruled out by VAR for offside as they thoroughly dominated the Premier League leaders.
Social media reaction
Soon after the final whistle, fans, presumably those affiliated to Manchester United, flooded social media with compliments towards Van Nistelrooy.
The win for PSV made them only the second team to beat Arsenal this season, with the first defeat coming at the hands of Van Nistelrooy’s former side Manchester United.
“Ruud van Nistelrooy knows. Only Ex - United players knows the code.” One fan pointed out.
“Ruud Van Nistelrooy doing the lord's work. Homie ended Arsenal's unbeaten run.” Added another.

FootballDespite Arsenal not being at their best, Van Nistelrooy was full of praise for his team for coming out with all three points on Thursday.
“It’s a huge game for us. The ambition to show what we can do against a team like Arsenal was a huge ambition. It’s a huge win for us in that sense.” He said after the game.
If Arsenal fail to beat Zurich and PSV beat Bodo/Glimt, Mikel Arteta’s side will have to play in the two-legged round of 32 to secure a ticket to the last 16.
