What are UEFA's Coefficient Rankings?
As noted by UEFA's website, the rankings determine how many places are allocated to each country for the next season's UEFA club competitions.
England are currently first and are allocated seven spots every season. Spain are second and have seven places as well. Germany and Italy are third and fourth.
With the La Liga side doing so terribly in this year's tournament, Spain could feel the pinch next season.
Real Madrid are the only saving grace. A good run in the Europa League for the remaining Spanish sides could also benefit the country as a whole.
