- Chelsea are through to the knockout stages of the Champions League after seeing off Salzburg
- Veteran centre back Thiago Silva was once again crucial for his side in defence during the 2-1 victory on Tuesday
- Silva’s wife, who is very vocal on social media, was unimpressed by one particular incident during the game
Thiago Silva’s wife Belle recently took to social media with an eye-catching rant against RB Salzburg for an incident involving her husband on Tuesday.
Silva, despite being in the twilight years of his career, was arguably the best player on the pitch for Chelsea as another solid performance in defence ensured his side claimed all three points to secure a ticket to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
It is quite the turnaround from Chelsea who, after losing their opening group game 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb, have done impressively to collect themselves.
In the dying minutes of the game against Salzburg on Tuesday, October 25, Thiago Silva’s otherwise flawless night almost turned sour as he was involved in a nasty collision with Salzburg striker Roko Simic.

The Brazilian defender leapt in the air to try to win a header, but Simic backed into him, causing him to land awkwardly on the ground.
Replays also seemed to show Silva doing a somersault midair before landing hard.
Belle Silva shared the incident on her social media, clearly angered by the potential serious injury her husband could have suffered because of Simic.
In her caption she wrote: "Is it a soccer game or MMA??"
Luckily, Silva was able to stay on the pitch and see out the game without any serious concerns.
