Chelsea Ace Callum Hudson Odoi Breaks Silence on Ghana Switch Less Than A Month to the World Cup

Callum Hudson-Odoi remains undecided over his international future, despite the 2022 FIFA World Cup fast approaching.

The 21-year-old has reportedly been in talks with the Ghana Football Association over a nationality switch, after going almost two years without an invite from the English national team.

Having featured for the Three Lions three times, Hudson-Odoi can still represent Ghana, the country of his parents, due to the new nationality change rules.

However, in an interview with the BBC, the Chelsea attacker admitted he could not tell whether he will be playing for Ghana or England at the World Cup.

"Nothing I would say at the moment on camera. I would love to tell you, but I couldn't say," he said. "At the moment, it's more just focusing on the best I can do here. You never know what will happen in the future."

Hudson-Odoi admitted the Ghana-England 'situation' had been on his mind for some time.

"I think right now it was more of the focus of coming here, really getting myself back into shape, playing a lot of games and just feeling like myself. Right now, my mind is just open."

Hudson-Odoi was born in England to Ghanaian parents and has represented England at youth and senior levels. He was a member of the young Lions that won the U17 FIFA World Cup in India in 2017.

Callum Hudson-Odoi joins Bayer Leverkusen on loan

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Callum Hudson-Odoi has sealed a season-long loan move to German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old prospective Ghana forward joins Leverskusen for the rest of the season from English giants Chelsea.

Bayer Leverksuen confirmed the arrival of the winger on their official website, as he begins a new adventure in Germany.
